The Sport Australia Hall of Fame is proud to announce the renewal of major sponsor, Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, through until June 2015.

The airline will also provide air travel to young athletes under the age of 21, who have qualified for The Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship Mentoring Program, in order to help further overseas training and competition experience. Scholarship applications open on June 8 with nomination forms available to download from www.sahof.org.au

When considering the stature of an athlete or for that matter any person, I set great store in certain qualities which I believe to be essential in addition to skill. They are that the person conducts his of her life with dignity, with integrity, courage, and perhaps most of all, with modesty. These virtues are totally compatible with pride, ambition, and competitiveness.
