Brooke Stratton - Long jump
Brooke entered the athletics world as an Under 6 Competitor and her career has skyrocketed ever since. A strong competitor in triple jump as well as long jump, Brooke has proven herself to be a highly competitive athlete.
Since 2001 her long jump progression has increased by an incredible 2.32 meters, bringing her personal best to 6.37m.
Brooke set her first Victorian Little Athletics Record in long jump in the Under 10 category, and followed up with records in both the Under 12 and Under 15 categories. Brooke also holds the Victorian State long jump record in the Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and Under 19 age groups.
In 2009 Brooke represented Australia at the IAAF World Youth Championships, and came first in both the long jump and triple jump at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival. In 2010 Brooke won the Australia Long Jump Championships in Sydney, and placed 6th at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Moncton, Canada.
This year Brooke has excelled, achieving her current personal best when she placed 2nd at the Australian Open Long Jump Championships, winning gold at the 2011 Australian Athletics Tour in Perth and equalling the Under 20 Australian Long Jump record.
Brooke’s sporting goals are to make Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championships Teams and her sporting heroes are Bronwyn Thompson and Fabrice Lappiere.
