Hall of Fame Moments

In 2007 the Sport Australia Hall of Fame introduced Hall of Fame Moments to recognise outstanding sporting moments that, throughout our Nation’s history, have shown to contribute a significant thread to the rich tapestry of Australian sport. Since its inception, the Sport Australia Hall of Fame has recognised 18 Hall of Fame Moments.

Each year, after public nominations have been received via the Hall of Fame Moments nomination form, the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Selection Committee will meet to discuss a shortlist that will then be put to a public vote. The winner of the public vote will be awarded the People’s Choice Hall of Fame Moment, which will be announced alongside the Selection Committee’s choice for that year.

Individuals and members of teams recognised in a Hall of Fame Moment are not inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame however, once individuals have retired, they do become eligible for induction.
