Hall of Fame Moments

In 2007 the Sport Australia Hall of Fame introduced Hall of Fame Moments to recognise outstanding sporting moments that, throughout our Nation’s history, have shown to contribute a significant thread to the rich tapestry of Australian sport. These are not THE Greatest Moments, they are Great Moments. Since its inception, the Sport Australia Hall of Fame has recognised 19 Hall of Fame Moments.

Each year, after public nominations have been received via the Hall of Fame Moments nomination form, the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Selection Committee will meet to discuss a master list that will be used to decide the Top 20 Hall of Fame Moments that will go to a public vote.

From the Top 20 Hall of Fame Moments list a winner will be decided from a public vote run by the Sport Australia Hall of Fame  Board’s preferred media outlet.

Individuals and members of teams recognised in a Hall of Fame Moment are not inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame however, once individuals have retired, they do become eligible for induction.
