Annabelle Burrows is an artistic gymnast who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.
Born in Western Sydney, Annabelle attended Sydney Academy of Gymnastics where she began gymnastics at the age of three. She is now the club’s most successful athlete to date with her selection as reserve to the 2024 Olympic team.
Annabelle’s competitive experience began young at the age of six, and has since furthered to state, national and international levels. She was awarded the gold in all around state competitions in 2018, 2019 and 2023 and has competed in 5 Australian National Championships since 2017, receiving a total of 6 medals.
She has attended the NSW awards ceremony for numerous years and received WAG Development Athlete of the year, Levels Athlete of the Year and was also nominated for the 2023 Senior International Athlete of the Year.
In 2023 she attended her first international event at the DOBRO World Cup in Croatia, placing 5th and 6th in the floor and vault finals and was later selected for the Gymnova Cup where she received gold for her performance on vault. In 2024, she travelled to New Zealand to partake in Continental Championships. Annabelle aims to broaden her experience on the international stage in the coming years, hoping to partake in World and Olympic events while further pursuing the hope of a career in the medical or sporting field.
