Christopher Jackson is an archery athlete who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.
Christopher was born in Canberra in 2007. In 2016 when he first gave the sport of archery a try he instantly fell in love with it. He first began as just a hobby but after a few years and winning some local competitions, he began training more seriously. Since then Christopher has broken numerous national records across multiple age divisions, ranging from under 14 all the way up to open.
He has won a long list of competitions at a national level in the youth divisions, and has medalled several times in the open division. He represented Australia for the first time in 2023 at the Trans Tasmin Challenge, shortly followed by the Oceania Championships, winning multiple medals at both of these events. Later that year he backed up these performances at the World Youth Championships.
After qualifying for the 2024 Olympic trials Christopher found himself competing at multiple senior international events, putting in some good performances at these events. He has been taking full advantage of these opportunities and all others presented to him to continue to develop himself, and continue working towards his goals.
“To receive the SAHOF scholarship is a true honour. To receive this support from SAHOF is an incredible vote of confidence in my future and I’m incredibly thankful for that.
