Danielle McDonald is a Motocross & Enduro dirt bike racer who was awarded a Tier 2 Scholarship within the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program.
Danielle was born in Parkes, NSW in 2007 and races both Motocross and Enduro. From a very young age she loved anything to do with motorbikes, her father was a rider and took her for rides on his bike. At the age of two Danielle’s father bought her first peewee 50, Danielle became hooked to the thrill of the sport ever since.
Danielle first started racing Motocross at the age of five at her local club in Condobolin. Danielle and her family soon became part of the community and would attend club days nearly every weekend. Soon after Danielle attended coaching days every Tuesday so she could improve her riding abilities. Danielle loved racing Motocross but also found a passion for Enduro racing. At the age of seven she started competing at state Enduro and Motocross races all over NSW, she won many State and club championships. Danielle started racing nationally in 2019 when she first raced the Australian Junior MX championship in Adelaide, she placed in the top five in the junior girls class.
In 2020, Danielle became part of the Yamaha, JGR, Ballards, Off Road Team and raced the Australian Off-road Championship, she was the first girl to ever win the Junior Girls off road title. After the COVID-19 Pandemic she won two more titles. Danielle continued to shine in the Australian junior Motocross coming 2nd in 2022 and winning her first MX title in 2023.
That year at just 16 years old Danielle made her first world stage appearance at the EnduroGp in Portugal, where she placed 4th but also won a few tests showing true potential in the women’s class.
Danielle was then selected to race for Australia at the International 6 Days of Enduro (ISDE) in Argentina, with her teammates Tayla Jones and Jess Gardiner. She won many tests and helped her team place 2nd overall and herself 2nd in the individual placing. Just a week later Danielle found herself in America racing the Thor Mini Olympics where she placed 5th in supercross and 4th in MX.
In 2024 Danielle continued to thrive in the women’s division at the Australian Off Road and Pro Motocross. Danielle was again selected to race for Australia at the ISDE in Spain. Danielle also plans to head overseas in 2025, to pursue her racing career and achieve her goals and dreams.
