Isaac is a race walking athlete who has been awarded a Tier 2 Scholarship within the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program.

Isaac is a talented and dedicated athlete in the world of athletics, in particular race walking. Born in 2007 and growing up in Western Sydney, Isaac started sport at a very young age. When he was four years old he started his athletics journey at Quakers Hill Little Athletics Club. Growing up, Isaac participated and enjoyed a variety of different sports including soccer, cricket, swimming, touch football and more recently AFL. After spending four years in the Greater Western Sydney Giants Academy, at the end of 2023 Isaac turned his focus towards athletics.

Whilst Isaac has had great success in his junior sport career across a range of sports, athletics was always a discipline in which Isaac excelled. His work ethic and competitive spirit has contributed to his success and rise to the top of his chosen sport.

The 2022/23 summer of athletics was a breakout year for Isaac. In this season he broke two under 18 Australian records, giving him vital racing experience. Isaac displayed great resilience and determination as he prepared for the 2023/24 season. This 2023/24 season was his most successful yet, breaking eight Australian records on his way to qualifying for his first international competition, the World Athletics Team Race Walking Championships in Antalya, Peru. In only his second race over the 10km distance, Isaac went to Turkey and became World Champion in the 10km race-walk setting a new Oceania and Australian U20 record, almost a minute ahead of the previous mark. At only 16 years of age, Isaac was the first Australian to ever win a medal in this event and the youngest ever winner of the World U20 title. Since this race, Isaac has turned his attention towards the World U20 Athletics Championships taking place in Lima, Peru in August 2024. He was not only selected for this team but also named as one of the team leaders of the Australian U20 athletics team for the championships as selected by his teammates.

As Isaac continues to excel in the world of athletics, he continues to inspire the next generation of race walkers across Australia and the world. With his strong competitive spirit and drive for improvement, he is on track to achieve even more success at the highest levels of his sport. Isaac is a grateful recipient of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring program that will assist him in continuing to fulfil his potential on this journey.

To be awarded one of the few SAHOF scholarships amongst some of the best rising athletes in Australia is a great honour. It means a lot to me to be recognised for my hard work and achievements.” – Isaac Beacroft on being selected as a 2025 Scholarship recipient.
