Jacob Cassar is a boxer who was awarded a Tier 2 Scholarship within the 2025 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

Jacob Cassar was born in Western Suburbs of Victoria in 2006. Jacob embarked on his boxing career at Lionsden Boxing Academy in September 2014 under the mentorship of Igor Pocev. What began as a pursuit for self-confidence rapidly evolved into a deep-seated passion for the sport.

Jacob’s impressive boxing career speaks volumes about his dedication and talent. Since beginning his competitive journey in 2018, he has achieved remarkable success between 2018-2024, with an undefeated record of 37 bouts and numerous titles, including Australian and Victorian championships, and a prestigious belt from representing Australia in the USA. His inclusion in the Boxing Victoria Futures Squad in 2019 and subsequent selection for national training and competition teams, including the 2024 World Boxing Youth World Championships, underscores his exceptional skills and potential.

Jacob’s ambition extends beyond national borders. His goal of joining the Boxing Australia team and excelling at global tournaments, including the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the 2028 Olympics, reflects his long-term vision for success. The Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) Scholarship awarded to him in 2024 and his classification as an emerging athlete by Combat Aus and Boxing Australia highlight his promise and dedication to the sport.
