Kelsea Lawson is a lacrosse athlete who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

Kelsea is a midfield lacrosse player from Glenelg Lacrosse Club in Adelaide. Having grown up around the club, Kelsea has been able to make some of her best friends and memories through lacrosse. Kelsea’s determined work ethic and consistent dedication to improvement has led her to being selected in three consecutive U18 National All-Star tournament teams, receive club and national Best and Fairest awards, as well as the 2024 Australian U20 women’s team.

Not only is Kelsea dedicated to personal improvement, she is also invested in developing the sport through recruiting juniors and giving back to the club in any way she can. Kelsea is a natural born leader, and has been fortunate enough to captain both club and state teams to premierships and national championships. She is a positive, supportive teammate, as well as an athletic, dynamic lacrosse player. She is so excited to become a part of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, and continue to grow her knowledge of high-performance sport through the SAHOF program!

“I am so grateful to be a Sport Australia Hall of Fame scholarship recipient, and am so excited to be a part of such an amazing program! As lacrosse is a smaller sport in Australia, being a SAHOF Scholarship recipient will hopefully increase recognition of lacrosse in the community. This will assist in growing the game, as well as providing more financial support for athletes. As lacrosse is mostly self-funded, I hope to use this scholarship to advocate for government support for future Australian athletes. Being a SAHOF Scholarship recipient will provide me with such amazing opportunities to learn from the most successful athletes in Australia, which I can use to take my lacrosse career to another level, as well as pass onto others to develop the sport.” – Kelsea Lawson on being selected as a 2025 Scholarship Holder
