Sally became the first Australian to be named the “World Athlete of the Year” when the IAAF announced both herself and Usain Bolt (Jamaica) as the winners of the Female and Male Titles in Monaco in November 2011.

Since then Sally has remained unbeaten over the 100m hurdles and until weeks out from the London 2012 Olympic Games when she hit a hurdle in a Diamond League competition.

Overcoming this setback and a slight back injury, Sally produced an incredible winning performance in the heats and semi-finals leading through to her winning the Olympic title in the Final.

Sally was made a Member of the Order of Australia – General Division (OAM) on January 26th 2014 for service to sport as a gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
