Leadership Update from the Sport Australia Hall of Fame
SAHOF Logo Web Header

Dear Members and Stakeholders,

On behalf of the Board of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, I am writing to share an important update regarding leadership and structural changes at the organisation.

It is with both gratitude and sadness that I inform you that our Chief Executive Officer, Adrianne Sarkozy, will be departing the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Following recent discussions about the organisation’s future funding environment and future direction, the Board has made the decision to restructure the CEO role, and as such, Adrianne’s tenure as CEO will conclude next week as the position becomes redundant.

Adrianne ‘Ady’ has made an enormous contribution over the past six years. She has led the Hall of Fame with integrity, resilience, and deep care for our Members and partners. Most notably – she guided the organisation through the turbulent Covid-19 pandemic years—a period that challenged every sporting body in the country. During that time, her steady leadership and judgement and unwavering commitment and passion ensured that SAHOF not only endured but remained connected to its Members, partners, and scholarship holders.

Ady has strengthened our governance and operations, nurtured important relationships, and continued to champion the values that sit at the heart of our organisation: excellence, persistence, integrity, and courage. Her contribution has been significant and lasting.

Leadership transitions are never easy, particularly when the individual has given so much of themselves to the role. On behalf of the Board, I want to sincerely thank Ady for her dedication, professionalism, and passion for celebrating and preserving the legacy of Australian sporting greatness. We wish her every success and fulfillment in the next chapter of her career.

To ensure continuity, Ady will remain for a short period to assist with the transition and handover to Katie Craig, who will step into the role of General Manager. Many of you already work closely with Katie through our events, partnerships, and programs, and I know she will continue to serve the organisation with commitment and care.

The Board is putting further transitional and structural arrangements in place to ensure stability and continuity, and we remain firmly committed to our purpose and to serving our Members and partners with excellence.

Warm regards,

John Bertrand AO
Chair
