Sport Australia Hall of Fame Chairman John Bertrand AM and former Davis Cup Captain and Wimbledon Champion Neale Fraser OA MBE formally inducted in person, 1987 Wimbledon Champion Pat Cash into the Hall of Fame.

“The Sport Australia Hall of Fame exists to inspire all Australians by recognizing and promoting the outstanding sporting achievements of our greatest athletes, and encourage everyone, young and old, to reach their sport and life potential, “said Sport Australia Hall of Fame Chairman John Bertrand.

“Cashy was actually inducted in 2005 along with other Australian sporting champions David Boon, Catherine Freeman, Karla Gilbert and Andrew Gaze, however due to playing commitments, was never in Melbourne at the time of our Awards Ceremony. With his Wimbledon trophy exhibit currently on display at our home, the National Sports Museum at the MCG, we thought that this was ideal opportunity to recognize his significant contribution to tennis.”

Pat received his Sport Australia Hall of Fame Medal from his victorious 1983 and 1986 Davis Cup team captain Neale Fraser and formally unveiled his plaque in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame ‘Spirit of Sport’ exhibit.
