Alicia Tan is a rhythmic gymnast who was awarded a Tier 2 Scholarship withing the 2026 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program.
Alicia is one of Australia’s brightest rhythmic gymnasts. The 15-year-old national champion made history at the 2025 Junior World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Bulgaria, becoming the first Australian gymnast to qualify for a final in both clubs and hoop, after placing first in clubs and fourth in hoop in qualifications. Alicia has consistently excelled at both national and international level, holding multiple all-around and apparatus titles. In 2026, she will transition into the senior ranks, aiming to represent Australia at international competitions. Beyond competition, Alicia aspires to inspire young gymnasts and contribute to the growth of rhythmic gymnastics in Australia.
After her competitive career, Alicia aspires to remain actively involved in rhythmic gymnastics as a coach and mentor for the next generation of athletes in Australia. She wants to share her international experience to raise the standard of the sport nationally, and to inspire young gymnasts to believe that success on the world stage is possible. Beyond gymnastics, she also aims to pursue a university degree in sports science or physiotherapy, combining her passion for sport with knowledge that can contribute to athlete health and performance.
