Angus Cormack is a Judo athlete who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame 2026 Scholarship and Mentoring Program.
Angus is a member of the Judo Australia Cadet Development Squad. Angus commenced Judo at 6 years of age and trains at Taketani Judo Academy in Melbourne. He is also a student at Salesian College, Chadstone. Angus has represented Australia at multiple international competitions in Australia and overseas. Angus won the Gold medal at the 2024 Hong Kong Cadet Asian Cup and the 2025 Cadet and Junior Oceania Cups. He also represented Australia at the Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria where he reached the round of 16.
His immediate plan is to finish Year 12 and study something related to business and finance at University whilst continuing train. He hopes to compete for many years in the future and following that, he would like to develop a career in the business field. He hopes to be able to use what he has learned as an athlete to help him in a career post-sport. After finishing competing, he would also like to stay involved in Judo in some sort of capacity and hopefully help the next generation of young Australian Judo players to achieve international success.
