Jesse Moore was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the 2022 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

Jesse was born in Adelaide, South Australia and started gymnastics at the age of six.

Jesse’s talents emerged at such a young age that within a matter of months he was selected to be part of Gymnastics South Australia’s high-performance program, GymJets.

After four successful years State Championships, Jesse entered the Australian Nationals scene. At his second Australian Nationals appearance (2015), Jesse won, making him the National Champion in all-round in his age-level. He retained this title for the next four years, 2016 to 2019 inclusive.

In 2018, at the age of 15, Jesse competed in his international junior debut experience at the International Junior competitions in the USA, Columbia (Pac-Rim) and France. This experience culminated into the Junior World Championships in 2019 in Hungary. The highlight of these competitions was when he placed seventh in the final of the Horizontal bar.

In May 2021 on the Gold Coast competing in his first senior international event, Jesse finished third in the all-around competition at the Continental Championships, shyly missing out on a Tokyo Olympic quota spot. At this same event he also finished second in the all-around Australian Championship, claimed silver in the Parallel Bars and Floor, and fourth place in three other apparatus.

This success secured Jesse a position at the National Training Centre within the AIS with a focus on future world success. Jesse’s ambition after competing is to help support gymnastics within Australia and all sports and become a physiotherapist.

“It’s certainly an honour to receive this Scholarship as it is an acknowledgment of what I have achieved so far and will definitely support me in my future sporting goals. It is also a great honour to be a Scholarship Holder in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame among so many great Australian athletes. I can only hope that I am able to achieve what these athletes have done and be recognised as a Member in the Sport Australia Hall of Fame. I am sure this scholarship is one of many steps that will help me achieve this goal.” – Jesse Moore on being selected as a 2022 Tier 3 Scholarship Holder.
