Molly Picklum has been a successful recipient of a Tier 1 Scholarship within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program and has been paired with SAHOF Member Debbie Watson OAM as her Mentor. Debbie is one of the finest women’s Water Polo players Australia has produced and one of the only female Water Polo players to have won gold at World Cup, World Championship and Olympic Games level.
Winner of the 2020 Australian Surfing Rising Star Award and named Surfing Life’s #1 Junior Female in the ‘Hottest 100 Talent’, Molly is regarded as Australia’s most exciting young surfing talent.
At just 17 years of age, Shelly Beach NSW local Molly is making waves both locally and internationally. After a successful period competing on the World Junior Series and winning the 2019 WSL Australia/Oceania Junior Championship, Molly is now on the WSL Qualifying Series and is poised to qualify for the WSL Championship Tour in the coming years.
Molly has recently completed her Year 12 studies and will now focus full time on her surfing career. Molly’s goal is to be the best in the World and to win World Titles – her ambition, down to earth personality, and humility place her in good stead to achieve her goals.
Molly speaks of her selection within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program:
