Sebastian Sultana is an Olympic sprinter who was awarded a Tier 1 Scholarship within the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program. He was paired with former World No. 1 tennis player Pat Rafter as his Mentor.
Sebastian was born in Sydney in 2005. He started off playing Soccer, Rugby League and Oztag in his younger years. At 10 years old, Sebastian first found his interest in athletics, joining Hills District Little Athletics. Sebastian started his first athletics training with Coach Greg Smith at age 11, focusing on both long jump and sprints. He made it to State Championships in his early years of Little Athletics for the 100m, 200m, long jump and the 4x100m Relay. At age 14, Sebastian made his first national team for long jump where he placed 5th.
At the age of 16, Sebastian started training full time with Greg Smith as a sprinter. Making Nationals for the first time in the 100m, he placed 4th in the 100m and 2nd in the 4x100m relay. The following year in late October, he went on to break the U18 100m Australian Record with a time of 10.27. That year he also won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay. Sebastian continued his success in 2023, becoming the U20 double National Champion in 100m and 200m.
In 2024, he won the Opens Australian 100m title as a junior, also running a new personal best of 10.17. He was also a part of the team that broke the U20 Australian 4x100m Record in late February. Through these performances, Sebastian was then selected for the 2024 Olympics in the 4x100m and the World U20 championships in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m. In late July, Sebastian was a part of the Australian 4x100m team that placed 2nd at the London Diamond league running 38.31 which is the 2nd fastest time in Australian history.
