Alysha Koloi is a diver who was awarded a Tier 3 Scholarship within the 2021 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

Alysha was born in Brisbane in 2000 and recently transferred to diving after honing her aerial skills as an accomplished gymnast. She began diving in 2015 at Chandler Diving Club after watching her younger sister dive, and now competes for Brisbane Diving in the 3m Springboard, 1m Springboard and 3m Synchro disciplines.

At the Brisbane Diving club, Alysha trains alongside Olympic bronze medalist Maddison Keeney and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Georgia Sheehan, and the knowledge she acquired in this environment helped her to become one of the youngest members of the national diving squad.

Alysha won the bronze medal in the 3m Springboard at the Junior World Championships in 2018, only three years after committing to the sport. Earlier in 2018, she won three gold medals at the Junior National Championships.

Two years later, she combined with Georgia to win the 3m Synchro event at the Diving Australia World Cup trials in 2020, and she won silver at senior international level at the FINA Grand Prix in Madrid in 2020

Alysha is currently the top ranked junior female in Australia. She is also ranked 3rd in the world at junior level and fourth at national senior level. She continues to develop and excel in her adopted sport and is striving for selection in the Australian team for Paris 2024. As well as holding ambitions in diving, she would like to study nursing.

It is an honour to be selected among these world class athletes from all different sports. To receive the financial assistance of a Tier 3 Scholarship will go a long way to helping me towards training and travelling to competitions.” – Alysha Koloi on being selected as a 2021 Tier 3 Scholarship Holder.
