YEAR AWARDED

2011

DOB: 24/10/1990

Caroline is an eight-time world champion and 16-time national champion in both BMX and Mountain Biking. She is also a dual Olympian in BMX, London 2012 and Rio 2016. Caroline classifies herself as more than a cyclist – though her passion for anything with two wheels is what drives the dream. Caroline is an athlete, businesswoman, social media influencer, mentor, proud advocate for women in sport, World Champion and Olympian.

“Every time someone says I believe in you, this snowballs your momentum as a professional athlete to continue and take on the next challenge.” Rob de Castella was paired up as Caroline’s mentor with the Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program. Caroline was fortunate to have an orange juice at a cafe with Rob and her Dad at the age of 9 years old, before heading off to Paris for the BMX World Championships, just when Caroline’s career was first beginning! Rob has been a great sounding board of support and pillar of strength in Caroline’s career.
