Jordin Watson is a surfer who was awarded a Scholarship within the 2012 Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program, he was paired with Mark Richards OAM as his Mentor.
Jordin was born in New South Wales, Australia and is the first surfer to be awarded a SAHOF Scholarship.
In 2009 Jordin won bronze at the Australian National Surfing Titles in Western Australia and was successful in winning gold medals at both the NSW State Titles and the South Coast Regional Surfing Titles in the U18 category.
Jordi was selected to captain Team Australia at the U18 Championships in 2010 and finished in 5th place. At the 2010 ISA World Titles in New Zealand, he won silver in the individual category and gold in the team category and demonstrated the potential which was evident from a young age.
Throughout 2011 Jordin competed on the Pro Junior Circuit and placed 5th in the Pro Junior Billabong Cloud Nine Wave in the Philippines. In the years that followed, Jordin compered in the Pro Junior Australasian Championships in order to fulfil his dream of competing on the world tour and reaching the podium at surfing’s most famous events.
