Chair John Bertrand AO welcomes you to the new Sport Australia Hall of Fame look.

In controlling the spread of COVID-19, it is clear our economy has been hit hard. My deepest sympathy to our Members and the sporting community in Victoria that are feeling the impact of this pandemic. This is a test of a country’s resilience and just as importantly a test of our Nations empathy for one another.

COVID-19 has also changed the way we work, the way we communicate. The world is transitioning into a different norm – a more digital world – and it’s exciting to be a part of this change.

With this being said, I am proud to announce the new look of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame by way of launching our modernised website.

The Sport Australia Hall of Fame re-tells our story, the stories of our Aussie icons who helped shape Australian sport to what it is today.

Our heroes share their greatness, inspiring others, upholding the values as expressed by Sir Donald Bradman; dignity, integrity, courage, modesty, pride, ambition, and competitiveness. “Let us remember that athletes who deserve and receive recognition also have a duty to mankind, may the people honoured of now and in the future, so conduct themselves that they will prove worthy of having their names recorded for posterity.” – Sir Donald Bradman AC.

We would like to officially welcome you to the new Sport Australia Hall of Fame, who will continue to honour the past, by way of treasuring our Members and Legends, celebrating the present, by awarding of The Don and inspiring the future via the Scholarship & Mentoring Program.

Our utmost gratitude to Sport Australia Hall of Fame Member and media icon, Bruce McAvaney OAM who has narrated our story and brings it to life.

We ask that you take a moment to read about the historical moments. Take a moment to nominate a sporting great. Take a moment to apply for a Scholarship. Take a moment to cherish Australian sport and remember, we will be coming back stronger – together.

Go Australia!
