Matthew Goble is a kayaker who was awarded a Scholarship within the 2010 Sport Australia Scholarship and Mentoring Program, he was paired with Michael McKay OAM as his Mentor.
In 2009, sprint Kayaker Matthew made his debut in the Senior National Team, competing in the K1 and K2 200m. In World Cup 3 in Szeged, Hungary, he claimed 2nd place in the K1 200m just behind the 2007 world champion Jonas Ems, and a 5th place in the 200m K2 with Jessie Philips.
Following the Senior Tour, he joined the Under 23 Team competing in two international regattas in Germany and Poland and won gold medals in the K1 500m and a 3rd gold in K2 500 with Queenslander Mitch Thompson.
In 2009 Matthew was also 1st in both the K1 200m and K2 200m at the Senior Australian National Championships in Perth.
